Dear Parents and Carers
Sixth Form Information Evening 9th November 2017
As you are aware Year 11 is the most critical year so far in your child’s education.
In our most recent OFSTED inspection our sixth form was judged as good and as a strength of our College. This year our students enjoyed a set of excellent A Level and BTEC Level 3 examination results, I have attached further details.
We would like to formally invite you to our Sixth Form Information Evening. Your child will have told you about this evening as they have had some information in recent assemblies in preparation for this event. This evening will take place from 6.00pm to 8.00pm on Thursday 9th November.
The vast majority of our students continue on into our sixth form because of the positive experiences that they have had at St Mary’s and the quality and breadth of the curriculum that we can offer in the sixth form. There will be an information talk at 6.00pm, in the theatre, to guide you through the wide range of courses on offer and how your child should go about making their choices. We have reviewed the courses we offer in the light of feedback from students and parents.
There will then be separate short subject presentations in different classrooms explaining the nature of the courses on offer. Students and parents will be encouraged to attend a number of these presentations. Subject sessions will be repeated to allow this to happen.
We do hope you can join us on this evening.
