St Mary's at Liverpool Echo Schools Awards

St Mary's Performing Arts team received an accolade at the 2015 Liverpool Echo School Awards.  We were particularly proud to be one of only two Wirral schools among 30 across Merseyside to be shortlisted for the annual awards presentation.

Teachers and students from the selected schools were invited to attend a special lunch and ceremony in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Liverpool.  Wirral was represented by Bebington High Sports College in the Healthy Living and Green Award category and St Mary's in the Creative Award category.

St Mary's Performing Arts teachers Mrs Caroline Hickey, Ms Leah Edwards and Ms Ciara McCallion attended with Sixth Form Dance and Drama student representatives Leah McNay and Miles Chew.

The Creative Award went to the Potter Class at Rudston Primary School, Childwall with St Mary's and Formby High School as runners up.

The awards ceremony, held for the first time last year, was hosted by Radio City's Leanne Campbell and sponsored by Liverpool-based recruitment consultants New Directions.

The title of School of the Year was awarded to King David High School, Liverpool.
