"Without music, life would be a mistake." Friedrich Nietzsche
The music department at St Mary's is an exciting place to be. From our Swing Band performing across Merseyside to our rocking Bands nights. From learning to play instruments, to our industry standard recording studio.
Music for St Mary's is for all students. We seek to provide opportunities for every student to experience music in a wide variety of ways. All students in years 7,8 & 9 study music, and further options to continue include GCSE music at year 10 & 11 and BTEC Level 3 music in our sixth form.
There are always performances going on at St Mary's, and you only have to take a look at the extracurricular tab on the right to see what you could get involved in.
We have prepared a number of students for roles within the music industry, many of whom have gone on to gain entry to top music courses at Universities such as Huddersfield University, Liverpool University's Institute of Popular Music, LIPA and even Berkley College of Music in America.
You will be taught and supported by our highly skilled staff, who are excellent musicians in their own right and have a wide experience of roles within the music sphere.
St Mary's music department offers an ideal environment for students to achieve and enjoy music.
