Work together; Succeed together
At St Mary’s, we believe that a true sense of belonging is the foundation for success. Every student is valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. We foster a welcoming and inclusive community where everyone feels respected, safe, and empowered to contribute. Our shared values and strong relationships create an environment where students grow in confidence, develop lasting friendships, and take pride in being part of the St Mary’s family.
St Mary's Catholic College welcomes all families who support our values. Our school is rooted in Catholic values which permeate all aspects of work and relationships. Our Chapel is at the heart of the school, placing Christ at the centre of everything that we do. St Mary's Catholic College is a community of service guiding young people on a path to opportunity, aspiration and reward, founded on Catholic values.
We encourage all our students to enrich their learning with extra-curricular activities. We currently offer: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Bible Club, Boxing, Breakfast Club, Chess Club, Choir, Debate Team, Duke of Edinburgh, Fitness, Football, Homework Club, House Drama, Judo, Maths Club, Music Lessons, Netball, Rugby, Sixth Form Study, Spoken Word, STEM Group (Science), Table Tennis and Trampoline.
St Mary's Catholic College, Literacy is at the heart of everything we do. We therefore offer students a wide range of stimulating ways to develop their ability to speak, read and write effectively. From a well-stocked Library to a range of high-quality interventions and our very own School Poet, we strive to help our students to gain Literacy skills that will enable them to thrive throughout their lives.
Courage is about stepping out of our comfort zones and facing challenges with confidence. It means speaking up for what is right, taking risks in our learning, and being resilient when faced with setbacks.
🎾 Day 2 of 3 — another busy and rewarding day for our PE department!
🗣️ The morning saw six of our students attend a Leadership Course at BPS — an excellent opportunity to develop key skills ahead of their PE course next year. This reflects our commitment to embedding leadership across our curriculum.
🌟 In the afternoon, we wrapped up our final six tennis sessions at Wallasey Manor. The coaches were full of praise for our students’ outstanding behaviour and attitude — a true credit to SMCC. We’re incredibly proud of how they represented the school!

Change of Venue - New Brighton Arts Festival - Sing Wirral Event
We are writing to inform you of an important change to the arrangements for your child’s performance at Sing Wirral, taking place today.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the event will now take place at Fort Perch Rock in New Brighton, instead of the originally planned Floral Pavilion. Please be assured that all other arrangements remain the same.
This week six of our Year 7 students (all boys) represented SMCC at the finals of TNCC 2025, held at the Barbican Theatre in London. Schools from all over the country took part and, from fifty thousand participants, less than one thousand made it through.
The team was tasked with creating their own `sustainable town` and `Eco Brighton` came to life. Wind turbines and a hydrogen energy terminal featured in their innovative approach to creating clean energy. Although they didn`t win, the judges commented on the `incredible energy` in the room. This was an invaluable experience in team building and communication: one that they can build on in the future.
⚽ What an exciting week of PE events at St Mary`s!
Day1 : A special shout-out to our Year 7 A vs B team football fixture, which showcased fantastic teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit. 🙌
🎉 Congratulations to the B team on their impressive 3–1 victory, with goals from Kai Towns and Kye Smith! Both teams played with Pride, Courage, and Commitment - values which have shone through all year. 🌟
👏 Huge thanks to Mr Everall and Mr Brough for their tireless work in promoting our core values through sport. Your dedication makes a real difference! #TeamStMarys #Year7Football #PEExcellence #StMarysSpirit
