Work together; Succeed together
At St Mary’s, we believe that a true sense of belonging is the foundation for success. Every student is valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. We foster a welcoming and inclusive community where everyone feels respected, safe, and empowered to contribute. Our shared values and strong relationships create an environment where students grow in confidence, develop lasting friendships, and take pride in being part of the St Mary’s family.
St Mary's Catholic College welcomes all families who support our values. Our school is rooted in Catholic values which permeate all aspects of work and relationships. Our Chapel is at the heart of the school, placing Christ at the centre of everything that we do. St Mary's Catholic College is a community of service guiding young people on a path to opportunity, aspiration and reward, founded on Catholic values.
We encourage all our students to enrich their learning with extra-curricular activities. We currently offer: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Bible Club, Boxing, Breakfast Club, Chess Club, Choir, Debate Team, Duke of Edinburgh, Fitness, Football, Homework Club, House Drama, Judo, Maths Club, Music Lessons, Netball, Rugby, Sixth Form Study, Spoken Word, STEM Group (Science), Table Tennis and Trampoline.
St Mary's Catholic College, Literacy is at the heart of everything we do. We therefore offer students a wide range of stimulating ways to develop their ability to speak, read and write effectively. From a well-stocked Library to a range of high-quality interventions and our very own School Poet, we strive to help our students to gain Literacy skills that will enable them to thrive throughout their lives.
Courage is about stepping out of our comfort zones and facing challenges with confidence. It means speaking up for what is right, taking risks in our learning, and being resilient when faced with setbacks.

Theme of the week: Don’t Be Afraid of Hard Work. In this week’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that life won’t always be easy, but we’re called to stay strong, keep believing, and keep doing what’s right. Faith takes effort, and God is with us in every challenge, helping us grow and make a difference. #reflection 💪✨🙏
Wishing all of our Year 11 and Year 13 students good luck in their mock exams over the next few weeks. Timetables can be found via the school website and Google Classroom. #exams #workhard #proud

We are going to mark the end of Anti-Bullying Week with Odd Socks Day! Proudly show off your odd socks tomorrow - Friday 14th November! #antibullyingweek #bekind
Theme of the week: Remembrance. In this week’s Gospel, Jesus visits the Temple, a sacred place for prayer and worship and finds that people have forgotten its true purpose. His response isn’t just about following rules; it’s a call to remember what really matters. Just as Jesus reminded others that the Temple was a place to honour God and give thanks, Remembrance invites us to pause and reflect on the things that truly hold meaning:
✨ the gift of life
✨ the importance of peace
✨ the courage and sacrifice of those who gave their lives for others
This week, we take time to remember all who have fought in war and those who have made sacrifices so that others might live in freedom. As we remember, we honour their bravery and renew our commitment to being people of peace, hope, and love. #reflection
