Work together; Succeed together
At St Mary’s, we believe that a true sense of belonging is the foundation for success. Every student is valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. We foster a welcoming and inclusive community where everyone feels respected, safe, and empowered to contribute. Our shared values and strong relationships create an environment where students grow in confidence, develop lasting friendships, and take pride in being part of the St Mary’s family.
St Mary's Catholic College welcomes all families who support our values. Our school is rooted in Catholic values which permeate all aspects of work and relationships. Our Chapel is at the heart of the school, placing Christ at the centre of everything that we do. St Mary's Catholic College is a community of service guiding young people on a path to opportunity, aspiration and reward, founded on Catholic values.
We encourage all our students to enrich their learning with extra-curricular activities. We currently offer: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Bible Club, Boxing, Breakfast Club, Chess Club, Choir, Debate Team, Duke of Edinburgh, Fitness, Football, Homework Club, House Drama, Judo, Maths Club, Music Lessons, Netball, Rugby, Sixth Form Study, Spoken Word, STEM Group (Science), Table Tennis and Trampoline.
St Mary's Catholic College, Literacy is at the heart of everything we do. We therefore offer students a wide range of stimulating ways to develop their ability to speak, read and write effectively. From a well-stocked Library to a range of high-quality interventions and our very own School Poet, we strive to help our students to gain Literacy skills that will enable them to thrive throughout their lives.
Courage is about stepping out of our comfort zones and facing challenges with confidence. It means speaking up for what is right, taking risks in our learning, and being resilient when faced with setbacks.
Last term, Mr Murray’s WJEC PE class were introduced to the exciting sport of Kin-Ball. A huge well done to Jack, Alfie, Fin, Poppy and Harrison, who showed excellent leadership by confidently introducing the sport to their peers and helping others get involved. 👏 Big thank you to Wirral School Games for their fantastic support and for lending the Kin-Ball equipment to the school.
Many thanks to Father Michael who joined us today to celebrate the Mass of the Epiphany. It was a beautiful and reflective service, reminding us of hope, light, and the joy of the season. #Epiphany 🙏✨
Theme of the week: Good News. In our Gospel reading we hear the story of the Epiphany. The Wise Men, also known as the Magi, followed a bright star on a long journey to Bethlehem to honour the newborn Jesus. They brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh as signs of love and respect for the new King.
This story reminds us that Jesus came for everyone, no matter where they are from, and that God’s love is for the whole world 🌍💫 The visit of the Wise Men is Good News because it shows that Jesus brings hope, light and joy to all people.
Just like the Magi, we are invited to recognise this Good News and share it with others through kindness, generosity and love 🤍✨
We are really looking forward to welcoming back all students on Tuesday. #springterm #welcomeback #community
Another magical moment from the HFCMAT Carol Service 🎶✨ Our choir delivered a truly moving performance, lifting everyone’s spirits and reminding us of the power of music to bring people together. An absolute credit to our community and a performance to be proud of! 🌟🎄
Our school panto Cinderella was a sparkling success! From dazzling costumes and laugh-out-loud moments to brilliant performances and plenty of audience participation, the cast and crew truly put on a magical show 👠✨
A huge well done to everyone involved, for the hard work, confidence, and creativity that brought this classic to life. What a fairy-tale ending! 💙
During Science Club, students explored magic writing using silver nitrate solution on filter paper 🔬#ScienceClub #MagicWriting #STEM
🚀 KS3 Science Club = Lift Off! 🚀
This term, our KS3 Science Club built ethanol-powered bottle rockets… and WOW, did they fly! 💥
We set up a full launching station outside Sc10 and fired them straight down the science corridor, with excellent results and only a near miss involving Mr Maddocks 😅 Big bangs, big learning, and even bigger excitement. Science in action at its best! 🔬✨
