Work together; Succeed together
At St Mary’s, we believe that a true sense of belonging is the foundation for success. Every student is valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. We foster a welcoming and inclusive community where everyone feels respected, safe, and empowered to contribute. Our shared values and strong relationships create an environment where students grow in confidence, develop lasting friendships, and take pride in being part of the St Mary’s family.
St Mary's Catholic College welcomes all families who support our values. Our school is rooted in Catholic values which permeate all aspects of work and relationships. Our Chapel is at the heart of the school, placing Christ at the centre of everything that we do. St Mary's Catholic College is a community of service guiding young people on a path to opportunity, aspiration and reward, founded on Catholic values.
We encourage all our students to enrich their learning with extra-curricular activities. We currently offer: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Bible Club, Boxing, Breakfast Club, Chess Club, Choir, Debate Team, Duke of Edinburgh, Fitness, Football, Homework Club, House Drama, Judo, Maths Club, Music Lessons, Netball, Rugby, Sixth Form Study, Spoken Word, STEM Group (Science), Table Tennis and Trampoline.
St Mary's Catholic College, Literacy is at the heart of everything we do. We therefore offer students a wide range of stimulating ways to develop their ability to speak, read and write effectively. From a well-stocked Library to a range of high-quality interventions and our very own School Poet, we strive to help our students to gain Literacy skills that will enable them to thrive throughout their lives.
Courage is about stepping out of our comfort zones and facing challenges with confidence. It means speaking up for what is right, taking risks in our learning, and being resilient when faced with setbacks.

🏐 Kin-Ball Leadership Success! 🏅
Today, six of our Year 10 students took part in a Kin-Ball leadership qualification as they prepare to lead the sport with their Year 10 WJEC cohort. Their dedication, teamwork, and positive attitude were evident throughout the course, and they represented SMCC brilliantly. Mr Murray was extremely proud of their exemplary behaviour and the fantastic example they set for others. Well done to all involved! 👏💙 #LeadershipInAction #KinBall #SMCCProud
✨ Feast of the Immaculate Conception - Whole School Mass ✨
Today we gathered as a whole school to celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a special moment in our year when we reflect on Mary’s YES to God and think about how we can say yes to Him in our own lives during this season of Advent.
We are delighted to be hosting the Jubilee Icon, a stained-glass image from Shrewsbury Cathedral, as part of the Pilgrims of Hope celebrations. It arrived with pupils from St Joseph’s Primary School, who joined us for Mass. 🙏 #ImmaculateConception #PilgrimsOfHope #CatholicCommunity Shrewsbury Diocese
