Work together; Succeed together
At St Mary’s, we believe that a true sense of belonging is the foundation for success. Every student is valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. We foster a welcoming and inclusive community where everyone feels respected, safe, and empowered to contribute. Our shared values and strong relationships create an environment where students grow in confidence, develop lasting friendships, and take pride in being part of the St Mary’s family.
St Mary's Catholic College welcomes all families who support our values. Our school is rooted in Catholic values which permeate all aspects of work and relationships. Our Chapel is at the heart of the school, placing Christ at the centre of everything that we do. St Mary's Catholic College is a community of service guiding young people on a path to opportunity, aspiration and reward, founded on Catholic values.
We encourage all our students to enrich their learning with extra-curricular activities. We currently offer: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Bible Club, Boxing, Breakfast Club, Chess Club, Choir, Debate Team, Duke of Edinburgh, Fitness, Football, Homework Club, House Drama, Judo, Maths Club, Music Lessons, Netball, Rugby, Sixth Form Study, Spoken Word, STEM Group (Science), Table Tennis and Trampoline.
St Mary's Catholic College, Literacy is at the heart of everything we do. We therefore offer students a wide range of stimulating ways to develop their ability to speak, read and write effectively. From a well-stocked Library to a range of high-quality interventions and our very own School Poet, we strive to help our students to gain Literacy skills that will enable them to thrive throughout their lives.
Courage is about stepping out of our comfort zones and facing challenges with confidence. It means speaking up for what is right, taking risks in our learning, and being resilient when faced with setbacks.
Theme of the week: See the Good. In this week’s Gospel, Jesus shares the parable of the wheat and the weeds, reminding us that even when life includes challenges, mistakes and disappointments, goodness is always growing alongside them. Sometimes we simply need to look a little more closely to see it.
As we reach the end of another school year, we are invited to reflect on all the good that God has nurtured in our community. From new friendships and personal achievements to acts of kindness, resilience and the support we have received from others, there is so much to be thankful for.
When we choose to see the good in ourselves, in others and in the world around us, we begin to see through the eyes of Christ. #SeeTheGood #FaithInAction #EndOfSchoolYear #CatholicEducation #GrowingTogether

Last Tuesday, the Dance Department took a group of talented dancers to perform at the Wirral Dance Festival at the Floral Pavilion. What another fantastic opportunity to showcase their skills and technique on a professional stage! Our dancers did themselves and St Mary’s proud, performing with confidence, professionalism, and incredible energy throughout. The Dance Department is extremely proud of every single performer, and especially our Year 11 dancers, who took to the stage for the last time representing St Mary’s.
Thank you for your commitment, passion, and dedication over the years. You have been fantastic role models and have left a lasting legacy within the department.
Well done to all of you - you absolutely smashed it! 💃🕺⭐️

St Mary’s Catholic College has reached a significant milestone in its journey. Following a recent inspection, our school was recognised as meeting the expected standard across all key areas — with safeguarding fully met. Inspectors found: a caring welcoming school where pupils feel safe, behave well and are respectful to each other. Pupils are supported in their learning and develop character and resilience. Leaders at all levels are committed to ensuring that every pupil receives the best possible education. This recognition belongs to everyone — pupils, staff, families, governors, and the wider trust community. It reflects what we’ve built together, and it’s the foundation for what comes next. We are proud. We are ambitious. And we’re just getting started. Work together. Succeed together.
