Dear Parents and Carers

Review Day Friday 27th November

Next Friday 27th November is our Year 8 and 9 Review Day. College will be closed and work will be set for pupils in other year groups.

Parental appointments with their child’s teachers will be carried out using a new piece of video software called School Cloud, rather than face to face. Details of how this will work have been posted out today to the parents of pupils in those year groups.

Change to PE Kit expectations in Years 7 and 8

With the onset of colder weather and the feedback we have received regarding the need to wear sometimes sweaty kit throughout the day, we have changed our expectations starting on Monday 23rd November. From Monday pupils in all year groups will need to bring their full college PE kit with them to change into on those days when they have PE and wear their full college uniform for the rest of the day, including their appropriate school shoes. Pupils in years 7 and 8 were told about this in college today.

Facemasks

Please thank and congratulate your children in demonstrating their understanding of the importance of wearing their face coverings in communal areas. So many people have commented positively on how our pupils are now doing it with little prompting.

Connected with this, I have received a message from Merseytravel to say that they will no longer be providing free face masks at train stations from Monday 23rd November onwards. They have mentioned the significant fines that might be imposed if people don’t wear one but I know that our pupils understand that it is the importance of keeping us all safe that is the motivator rather than the threat. However, it is worth checking with your child to make sure they don’t leave theirs at home.

Refined Bubble Model

I have had a lot of positive feedback from pupils and staff about the fact that pupils get to move safely to specialist areas around the school and that teachers wait to greet them on arrival and provide sanitiser as they arrive at their lessons.

As with all changes we will keep it under review to make sure it works in the best interest of everyone.

Hope you enjoy your weekend with your children.

Yours faithfully
