Dear Parents
This Week
This week our St Mary’s Community has had the privilege of unifying to reflect on the life and passing of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II. Pupils have taken part in assemblies, form time activities and there has been a book of commemoration in the Chapel. We have reduced communications, during this time of mourning but do want to provide an update on some important developments for next. https://twitter.com/StMarysWallasey/status/1569228191033597954?s=20&t=x6JFTSNOo1Y3IbMCWnVgpw
Pre-loved Uniform
A big “Thanks” to all those families who have donated uniform to our Pre-Loved Uniform Partners – Wirral FUSS. They are the local charity which recycles great quality pre-loved school uniforms. Using the recycled fibre drum in our reception area, they collect your donated uniforms and sort them so that you can collect/request what you need, and they then give them away for FREE!
Toilet Refurbishment
We have been consulting with pupils about our toilet provision at St Mary’s and have been in discussion with architects since June about a plan for refurbishment. We are pleased to announce that the first phase of this will begin next week with the opening of additional toilets that will be staffed throughout the day and are adjacent to the canteen. We will be letting pupils know the new arrangements on Tuesday morning. The second phase will involve us sharing specific plans with pupils and parents for feedback and more formal consultation.
Additional Canteen Capacity
From Wednesday, next week, will be trialling an additional canteen servery which pupils on the playground will be able access directly. This will serve sandwiches and pastries as well as fruit, cakes and drinks.
