At the recent St Mary’s Careers Fair (11/1/23), the History teacher, Mr. Smith, had an unexpected and delightful encounter. He ran into his former student, Callum McDowell, who was representing Airbus.
Callum expressed his genuine appreciation for Mr. Smith’s teaching style and credited him with instilling an empathetic approach to learning. He now applies this approach when collaborating with his colleagues in the assembly technologies team at Broughton. In 2019, Callum graduated from St Mary’s after completing his A levels and went on to pursue an engineering degree apprenticeship. He successfully earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in 2022, paving the way for a bright and promising future.
