At St Mary’s, we are committed to creating a nurturing and supportive environment that fosters the well-being and mental health of all members of our school community. This supports us in achieving our vision of ‘Work together; Succeed together’ through our mission of ‘We develop individual excellence, embrace opportunities and build communities with the Gospel values at the heart’.
We recognise that mental health is fluid and is as vital as physical health for personal development, academic achievement, and overall success. We are dedicated to improving awareness about mental health issues and are fully committed to promoting wellbeing in our school. We regularly host whole school awareness raising campaigns or events, such as #HelloYellow Day, World Mental Health Day, which provide opportunities for staff and students to work together. Plus, parents’ and carers information events, such as coffee mornings and online events.
In this section we would like to share with you accessible and reputable wellbeing support, advice and guidance to our students and families. Because we recognise that mental health is fluid, there may be times when students may be struggling or want ideas on how to maintain positive mental health.
If your child is in crisis and needing assistance or you would like to call and ask advice on a mental health issue they are having, please contact the CAMHS Crisis Team on 0800 145 6485, available 24hour/7 days a week.
