Dear Parents and Carers

Can I thank you for your continued support in ensuring our pupils wear full college uniform.
Safeguarding measures
As you will be aware our ban on the use of mobile phones in college is a crucial elment of reducing the risks to our pupils that inappropriate use brings.
Similalrly, not wearing coats and other non-uniform items eg hoodies/zip up tops that cover up elements of our uniform is another important measure by which we can identify who belongs in our college.
Can I ask you to remind your children why these two expectations are in place and reinforce that these are important safeguarding measures. We will be focusing on this with our pupils next week.
FUSS
We are aware that this can present a significant financial challenge to some families and I would like to share with you the details of a local charity, FUSS, that supports families with this.
FUSS accept uniform donations over the whole school year but as Year 11 move into our Sixth Form they will no longer require much of their current uniform and each year parents often donate items to this charity. Please consider doing this if it is no longer required for a younger sibling.
I have attached the FUSS information to this message.
Ongoing testing
As you might be aware at one point people were being advised to go for a test  for a wider range of symptoms than one of the three recognised symptoms; high temperature, loss of smell or taste or persistent cough but Public Health has said that we now only need to go for a test if we have one of the three recognised symptoms.
The Wirral news has been very positive regarding the falling number of positive cases of coronavirus and this has been the case in our college. We cannot be complacent and the home testing on a Sunday evening remains a crucial part of this with a second test later in the week. Please keep encouraging and supporting your children with this.
Hope you enjoy the weekend.
Yours faithfully
Mr A Boyle
