Changes to Sixth Form Uniform for September 2017
The Governing Body have agreed to support the introduction of a new sixth form uniform from September 2017.
This was in response to concerns expressed by parents regarding the cost of providing a range of outfits to meet the requirements of the previous dress code and in what was an acceptable interpretation of the dress code.
The key criteria we have applied when selecting the new uniform are: affordability, relative simplicity, a desire for our sixth form students to look smart and be identifiable from Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
We have identified a sixth form uniform for boys and girls that meets these requirements and Governors have supported this.
The new school tie for sixth form boys in September will be black with a double silver stripe. Ties will also be available to purchase from the school office.
In September 2017, this dress code will optional for Yr13 students. These students may continue to wear the existing dress code until they leave.
Bespoke items such as St Mary’s checked skirts and ties can be purchased from Wirral Uniform Centre, 2A Princes Pavement, Birkenhead, CH41 2XY. Online orders can be placed at www.wirraluniforms.com
