Monday - Thursday : 8am - 3:45pm
Friday : 8am - 3:30pm
St Mary's Library is where you will find books and information for lessons, courses, assignments projects, hobbies and reading for pleasure.
It is meant for quiet study.Please work quietly and respect the need for a peaceful working environment. Mobile phones must be switched off!
Borrowing books: You can borrow two books at a time and keep them for two weeks. Please return or renew books promptly at the end of the loan period.
Sixth Formers can borrow six books at a time and keep them for two weeks. Please return or renew books promptly at the end of the loan period.
Eating and drinking is not allowed in the Library at any time!
In St Mary's Library you will find...
Reference books: These include encyclopaedias, dictionaries, handbooks and directories. These can be used to find information quickly or for a brief introduction to a subject.
Non-fiction books: These are arranged by the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme, so that all books on a subject are kept together. Use our online catalogue on the college computer network to find out what we have got and where it's kept!
Computers: The Library computers are stations on the college network with access to curriculum resources and the internet. Beware of information from the internet. It is not necessarily accurate and unbiased. You can use the Library computers at break and lunchtime - just ask at the desk!
Newspapers and periodicals: These are for up-to-date information and awareness of the current developments in your subject.
Other resources: These include audiotapes, dvds, careers information, the fiction collection, and equipment you may need to do your work.
