Health & Social Care
We offer a number of courses in key stage 4 and 5 that relate to the health, social and childcare sector. Studying Health and Social Care, or Childcare will give you the knowledge and skills you need to allow you to, in the future, pursue a job in the health and social care sector e.g. as a nurse, social worker, health care assistant, nursery nurse etc.
Many of our students go on to study at university and take courses including Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, Nursing, Social Work, Childhood Studies Occupational Health and Teaching.
Health and Social Care is a BTEC qualification that can be studied at:
- BTEC Level 2, Tech Award in Health and Social Care (equivalent to 1 GCSE) in year 10 and 11.
- BTEC First Award in Health & Social Care (equivalent to 1 GCSE) currently taught in year 11
- BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Health & Social Care (equivalent to 1 A Level) currently taught in year 13
- BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (equivalent to 2 A Levels) in year 12 and 13.
- BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (equivalent to 3 A Levels) in year 12 and 13.
